CHIME International is teaching a series of Digital Skills clinics for Learning Disability Nurses. Supported by The Burdett Trust for Nursing, there will be three clinics, in the North of England, in the South of England and in Northern Ireland. Each clinic will be taught live online over four full days.
The clinics are free to RNLDs thanks to the generous funding from Burdett.
Curriculum
The four-day curriculum starts by introducing students to core concepts in digital health including population health, shared records and continuity of care. This will be taught by subject matter experts from the NHS.
Having set the context the clinic will then focus on Digital Health by nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and review) and CHIME is thrilled that Gwen Moulster OBE is joining our faculty and will attend every clinic to take students through the Learning Disability Nursing Model: a framework for practice.
Learning will be enhanced with case studies and examples of best practice to demonstrate how digital health can deliver better care for people with learning disabilities.
The afternoon sessions focus on the RNLDs as true change agents in digital health. They’ll be taken through using their personal capital to make change happen and how to use networks as levers for change. Each day ends with an inspiring and affirming session supporting RNLDs to be leaders in patient-centred digital health.
